Fast Font Set - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: I want to create a set hand-written (poster, decorative) fonts installed on my computer. How it to make?
A: It is very simplis:

  1. Start FFS
  2. Mark all fonts in a field "List of fonts" (It conveniently to make by the button " Invert check " in the toolbar) or only part - clicking the mouse on squares near to the names of fonts.
  3. In the "Text panel" toolbar install parameters, interesting for you:
    1. Preview text - text, which will be displayed by marked fonts. By pressing the button with arrow in the right part of this field it is possible also to select in the dropping out list imaging of the whole code page or alphabet.
    2. The "Change preview text" button calls a separate edit window allowing to change the text, which will be displayed by marked fonts, if it rather large. Also in this window it is possible to load the text from a disk file.
    3. "Font size" - allows to enter or to select in the dropping out list a font size, with which the text will be output.
    4. The "A" button - "All variants" allows simultaneously to output till 4 variants of outline of each of fonts: usual, italic, semiboldface and semiboldface italic. If to you one of variants is necessary only, this button should be not pressed.
    5. The "B" button - "Bold" specifies, that all fonts will be displayed only by semiboldface outline.
    6. The button "I" - "Italic" specifies, that all fonts will be displayed only by italic outline.
    7. The "U" button - "Underline" specifies, that all fonts will be displayed only by underlined outline.
    8. The "Color" button allows to select colour, with which the text will be displayed.
  4. Now press the "Show" button to see selected fonts. In right (largest) parts of the window you will see your text displayed by selected outlines of selected fonts.
    1. By pressing the "Print" button it is possible to output the generated image of the text on printing.
  5. Now can remove a mark of the fonts, which have not liked you, (it conveniently to make by pressing the button " Show check/all " - to see only marked fonts in the left part of the window, and then to remove a mark of the not liked fonts).
  6. Repeat items 4 and 5, the fonts, arranging you, will not stay yet only.
  7. Now it is possible to write down an obtained set of fonts in the separate file, that in following time it was not necessary again it to select. Press the "Save" button.
  8. Give a name to a set of fonts, enter it and press the "Save" button.
Q: And how I can take advantage already of written down set of fonts?
A: There are two paths:
  1. Most simple - to select the necessary set in the dropdown list "Sets of Fonts"
  2. To press the "Open" button and in the appeared window of opening of the file to find on the disk and to select the necessary set of fonts. After that it is possible to enter the text to install parameters of the output and to press the "Show" button.
Q: I choose in the dropping out Preview text list an item "Code table" (or " Alphabet "), and instead of it jumps out absolutely other text. Why?
A: This text also is the code table - "Code table" (all visible characters of the font) or alphabet - "Alphabet".

Q: And I can consider the font larger already after it is output on the screen?
A: Yes, for it press the "Zoom in" button the toolbar. It calls increase of a scale on 10%. Overstrike - for 10 % and so on.

Q: And how now to reduce?
A: The "Zoom out" button reduces a scale on 10%.

Q: It would be necessary to output the text in two (in one) column. How it to make?
A: An item Settings the View menu calls(causes) the window, in which it is possible to set parameters of the output in one or two columns. Here it is possible to set the font and size, with which the names of fonts in "List of Fonts" will be output

Q: Can I output or to remove from the screen of the FastFontSet toolbar?
A: Certainly! View - > Standart panel and View - > Text panel.
